2014 Chihshang Marathon enjoys magnificent swaying paddy fields of Bolang Avenue

With the route of this year’s 2014 Chihshang Marathon including some of the hottest tourist attractions in recent years, from the swaying paddy fields of Bolang Avenue (伯朗大道) – aka Mr Brown Avenue – to the Takeshi Tree (金城武樹), the event managed to attract over 3000 courageous runners. Arriving long before 6am, event staff and participants from all over the country congregated at Taitung County Hakka Museum (池上客家文物館) busily preparing for the start of the race.

Instead of the usual starting pistol, this year’s event got under way to the deafening boom of the traditional rice popcorn machine, which brought a bit of added interest and helped to advertise the local area’s high quality rice. The use of vehicle restrictions transformed Bolang Avenue into a giant human snake consisting of runners and a few lone cyclists, making the event a wonderful example of eco-tourism.

穿梭於稻浪美景中的2014伯朗大道馬拉松

2014台東伯朗大道馬拉松路線，包含近年最夯的伯朗大道稻浪，以及金城武樹等著名景點，吸引了超過三千名的勇腳，從台灣各地齊聚池上客家文物館展開競賽，早上六點不到，就有早起跑友和工作人員在會場忙進忙出，伯朗大道馬拉松一改以往鳴槍起跑的方式，今年以池上獨特的爆米香起鍋的爆炸聲代替鳴槍，趣味十足，也再度突顯行銷池上以米為主的農業好米特色。因為管制車輛進入，形成伯朗大道長長的跑步人龍，期間或有騎著單車的遊客也悠遊其間，是綠色旅遊的絕佳典範。
