PeoPo's Yunlin – capturing the local situation in Tuku

Due to the pandemic, PeoPo had to reduce the number of Your Shoot events this year. PeoPo worked with local citizen journalist Shu-Ling Huang to plan the tour route and lead the citizen journalists to explore the small town of Tuku in the last Your Shoot event of the year.

With hundred-year-old stores lining both sides of the street, Tuku in Yunlin used to be the only way from Lugang to Beigang. In recent years, thanks to the efforts of workers engaged in the local culture and history of Tuku, the First Market with its historical significance and wooden architecture was successfully preserved and revitalized, attracting young people and tourists to stop for coffee.

PeoPo hopes that Your Shoot events will help introduce participating citizen journalists to the local characteristics of places across the length and breadth of Taiwan which have been quietly working hard and contributing to the community.

PeoPo雲林踹拍 走讀土庫在地方情

  今年因為疫情攪局，PeoPo不得已減少了踹拍的場次，今年最後一場踹拍在雲林土庫舉辦，PeoPo特別和在地駐點的公民記者黃淑玲合作，細心規劃導覽路線，帶領公民記者一起探訪土庫小鎮風情與人文特色。

  雲林土庫過去曾是往來鹿港與北港的必經之路，街道兩旁林立的店家和一間間經營百年的店鋪。近年在文史工作者的努力下，成功保留並活化了具有歷史意義和木造建築特色的第一市場，吸引了文青咖啡的進駐成為觀光客和年輕人停留駐足的場域。

  PeoPo希望每一次不同主題的踹拍，都能帶領參與的公民記者朋友認識在地特色，也感受到在台灣不同角落，一直有人默默地努力付出，為地方奉獻心力。
