Mazu, the revered sea goddess, is believed to protect fishermen and calm the seas. Given Taiwan’s island geography, her worship runs deep in coastal communities. Yet, even in landlocked Nantou, devotion to Mazu remains unwavering.

In Caotun, Chao-Qin Temple houses the world’s largest pure bronze Mazu statue—standing four stories high, it dominates the skyline as a striking landmark.

Every community has its spiritual heart, and for Caotun, that heart is Chao-Qin Temple. As Taiwan’s annual March Mazu Pilgrimage gains momentum, Caotun’s Mazu is also drawing increasing recognition.

全台唯一不靠海縣市 媽祖廟依舊香火鼎盛

媽祖是傳統信仰護海之神，能保佑漁民平安出海、風調雨順，由於台灣四面環海，媽祖信仰更是深植人心，但在全台唯一不靠海的縣市南投，也有一座香火鼎盛的媽祖廟。草屯朝清宮有著全世界最大純銅媽祖像，媽祖銅像約四層樓高，從草屯街上經過，遠遠的就可以看到媽祖銅像坐落在這裡。

每個地方都會有一個信仰中心，而朝清宮就是草屯在地人的信仰中心，隨著全台農曆三月瘋媽祖活動，草屯媽祖也愈加讓人熟知。
