「中橫公路災後踏查」

花蓮大地震後已經過了三個月，肝腸寸斷的中橫公路經過搶通後也逐漸開放通行，不過沿路依然碎石不斷，某些路段也還在整修中，天祥、布洛灣、尤其嚴重。

天祥遊憩區當地業者連同超商和公家機關營業停擺至今已過三個月，垃圾桶裡的垃圾被餓肚子的流浪狗叼至四處，超商裡從架上散落一地的商品停格在地震發生的那一刻，在現場採訪了一位當地餐廳的工作人員，趁著天氣好趕快上山收拾來不及下撤的物品。

在現場的業者表示：「面對未來還至少需要三個月的工期，遭受天災的財損也無法營業，只能暫時下山另尋出路。」

太魯閣內的溪流峽谷已不如往日壯麗，河道上堆積了大量的土石後形成了堰塞湖，因其形成不穩定，蓄積水體可能在短時間大量湧出，對下游地區可能造成極大的威脅。

Three months have passed since the Hualien earthquake. The Central Cross-Island Highway, which was severely damaged, has gradually reopened after emergency repairs. However, the road remains littered with debris, and some sections are still under repair, with Tianxiang and Buluowan being particularly affected.

In the Tianxiang Recreation Area, local businesses, including convenience stores and government offices, have been closed for three months. Garbage bins are raided by hungry stray dogs, and items from store shelves are scattered on the floor, frozen in time since the earthquake struck. We interviewed a restaurant worker who took advantage of the good weather to go up the mountain and retrieve belongings that were left behind in the rush to evacuate.

One local business owner stated, "It will take at least another three months of work to repair the damage from the disaster. The financial losses from the disaster have forced us to cease operations, and we have no choice but to temporarily move elsewhere."

The streams and canyons within Taroko Gorge are no longer as majestic as before. The river channels are clogged with debris, forming landslide-dammed lakes. These unstable formations could suddenly release large volumes of water, posing a significant threat to downstream areas.
