秋‧殘荷‧ 野鴨~ Autumn Withered Lotus Pond

台北植物園荷花生態池之秋天時節，殘荷‧落葉‧見禽鳥戲水。

In the Autumn season of the Lotus Ecological Pond of Taipei Botanical Garden,

seeing the withered lotus, falling leaves, and wild birds played in the water.

紅藕香殘玉簟秋，

Lotus flowers are wilting and autumn plaited straw mats chills through,

花自飄零水自流，

Flowers wither and petals fall while water takes its course,

Futile are means to clear the head of sentiments so blue,

才下眉頭，卻上心頭。

臺北植物園，成立於1921年，然而此植物園自1896年就存在。 目前由臺灣林業研究所管理維護，主要用於學術和自然科學研究。 目前，植物園裡擁有1,500多種類植物; 園內有17個區，種植各種植物，此外有9個生態池，分別設計以用於種植不同的水生植物。

臺北植物園是觀鳥的熱門地點，尤其是貓頭鷹會在寒冷季節從山上下來，以保護它們的雛鳥。

The Taipei Botanical Garden was originally established in 1921, although the garden itself has been in existence since 1896.  It is maintained by the Taiwan Forestry Research Institute. In 1930, there were 1,129 species in the garden, serving largely academic research and natural sciences.  Currently, the garden is maintained and has over 1,500 species of plants. There are 17 districts in the garden, exhibiting various plants. The 9 ponds are also designed to grow different plants. 

The Taipei Botanical Gardens are a popular spot for bird watching, as owls descend from the mountains during the winter months to protect their young from the cold.

The garden is accessible within walking distance West from Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall Station of the Taipei Metro.
