The ‘Orchestra Under the Bridge’, which was formed by a group of gray-haired elderly persons who enjoyed playing together, has now grown to 30 members averaging 67 years of age. Playing in the orchestra provides mutual support and care, and although around one-fifth of the group has some form of physical disability, through playing in the orchestra their pain has been largely forgotten. ‘Orchestra Under the Bridge’ has performed in many hospitals in the south of Taiwan, and hopes that through sharing their own stories and their fights to go beyond illness many sufferers will be given the strength to do likewise.

嘉義有一個特別的「橋下國樂團」由平均年齡67歲的銀髮族組成，原來是由幾位好朋友在橋下練習，有很多人陸續參加，現在共有30人參加，其中約五分之一的
團員領有殘礙手冊，但投入音樂的世界讓他們忘卻病痛的苦，也彼此互相照顧，互相扶持。橋下國樂團也到南部許多醫院演出，希望藉由表演與分享自身抵抗病魔的
經驗，讓更多病友不再自怨自艾。
