March is mad for Matsu!
As the saying goes in Taiwan, “March is mad for Matsu!.” Many religious activities that were suspended due to the pandemic last year have resumed this year, especially the grandest of all, the 9-day 8-night carnival-style Matsu procession, which started late in the evening of April 9.
This grand Matsu procession always attracts many worshipers, and this year was no different, with droves of worshipers gathering at Jenn Lann Temple in Dajia. In crowded streets, participants were reminded to take precautions against COVID-19, retain a cautious attitude, and give thanks to Matsu for blessing Taiwan.
