Spiderman of the tree world befriending trees

For the average person living in the city, climbing trees is a rather strange activity; however, in Taiwan, some individuals have turned climbing trees into a career. Forty-year-old Weng Heng-bin(翁恒斌) climbs to the top of trees with skill, energy, and finesse and is the first tree surgeon in Taiwan with professional certification from the International Society of Arboriculture  (ISA).

Tree surgery, which mainly involves pruning trees, is a relatively new occupation in Taiwan. The standard way of pruning of trees with heavy machinery lacks understanding about the growing process of trees, which often results in lasting damage. On the contrary, tree surgeons take into account the needs of trees and tree owners before setting to work. Weng Heng-bin hopes his efforts will raise awareness and understanding of the needs of trees and inspire the public to begin treating trees with the care and respect they deserve.

樹木界蜘蛛人 與樹為友的攀樹師

在樹上攀爬，對生活在都市的現代人眼中，是一件陌生的事。但在台灣，卻有人將爬樹變身為職業，今年40歲的翁恒斌，身手矯健的攀上樹頂，他是台灣首位取得ISA國際證照的攀樹師。

攀樹師為台灣新興行業，主要工作是修剪枝葉。以往的傳統機械修樹技巧，不了解樹的生長結構，容易讓樹木遭受巨大傷害，攀樹師則會依照樹木的生理需求，並與樹主人達成共識才會動刀。攀樹師期望透過自身力量，讓大家能夠愛護樹木，正視樹木的健康管理。
