Graduation yearbooks deep in the mountains – volunteer photographers help rural kids realize dreams
"A graduation yearbook is a luxury that most children in rural schools can only dream about," says Yang Wen-yi (楊文逸). He and his team visit rural villages throughout Taiwan making the graduation yearbook dream of rural kids come true. In later life, long after kids have gone their separate ways, these group photos will become cherished memories.
After the photoshoot, graduates are provided with two photos, one as a keepsake, and another to write a thank-you note on the back. The volunteer photography team hopes the project will help foster gratitude in kids in the knowledge that each and every "free" graduation yearbook is the culmination of many people working hard behind the scenes.
