Local regeneration has been a hot topic in recent years. The community of Laomei in the northernmost part of Taiwan has been completely revamped thanks to the Changemaker Program at Laomei Elementary School, which was set up with the original aim of helping students build self-confidence and feel a sense of accomplishment.

Unlike traditional community transformations, in response to the new media era, Laomei cooperated with businesses and used the power of digital technology to promote its community transformation plan via social media platforms. This new approach has attracted a massive influx of tourists into Laomei.

Thanks to the success of this community transformation project, the outside world is finally taking notice of Laomei, and local children have developed lots of self-confidence during the process. Their efforts have made people realize that a little bit of strength has the power to inject lots of vitality into the community.
