Picture book acquaints the youth with temple gods
Young people have few opportunities to get in touch with traditional culture and have a relatively poor grasp of the Taiwanese language. As a result, the majority of young people have little understanding of Taiwan's traditional customs and gods. Searching for Formosa’s Sacred (寶島搜神記) is a picture book that uses traditional legends to facilitate a better understanding of temple gods.
In the face of today's demise of traditional culture, the book’s author hopes that Searching for Formosa’s Sacred can bring the stories of temple gods to life in the hearts of young people and raise awareness about the importance of doing one’s part to keep traditional culture alive.
