Old and young co-living – renting a world of exchange
An old-young co-living project in New Taipei provides seniors and young people with the opportunity for mutual care and interaction. Learning from experience abroad, the co-living project allows people from different generations and professional domains to live together. The project hasn’t developed exactly as intended due to the impossibility of predicting how people interact, but then this idiosyncrasy of the current co-living project model has provided roommates with an extended period of time to get used to each other and been a catalyst for the exchange of ideas and experience.
Creating spaces where different generations of people can live together provides some human warmth in today's fast-paced world. Hopefully, in the future, we will see the stable development of co-living spaces that address the needs of many more people.
