朗島部落的飛魚季剛結束不久，部落裡的男人又可以開始拿起釣竿、魚槍捕底棲魚類食用。朗島部落謝清泉、李正雄在6月7日中午左右，於洞口處釣獲一條與人同高，目測約90台斤的稀有魚種—龍王鯛。李正雄說：「我們纏鬥了三小時，才把牠釣上岸。」兩人難掩興奮，立刻拿出墨汁，製作魚拓。
部落裡的親朋好友耳聞，也都前來幫忙清除魚麟，共享釣到大魚的喜悅。2010年朗島部落也曾經釣過破百台斤的龍王鯛。顧名思義，龍王鯛屬珊瑚礁魚類中最大的魚種。近年來由於缺乏保育以及海產文化盛行，龍王鯛在台灣海域已瀕臨滅絕，今日還能釣到這麼大的龍王鯛，實屬難得。

恩...你說得很不錯，不過對於達悟族而言，生態保育的概念跟台灣很不同，並不是以區塊或者魚種的量化數字進行保育或者控管，而是以"季節"來限定。
達悟族的海洋保育，大致可以”飛魚季（很多人把飛魚祭誤以為是飛魚祭，在此特地澄清一下）”與否來做區分。
飛魚季（約３－５月）的時候，所有的底棲魚類（珊瑚礁魚類）是不能獵捕的，只能捕洋流帶上的魚群，如飛魚、鬼頭刀、牛港參等洄游魚類；過了飛魚季後，才能再回來捕底棲魚類，並且停止捕洄游魚類。
所以我認為"保育"這件事情，對於不同的族群來說，或許可以有不同的切入點來探討。
