To celebrate winter solstice on the 22nd of December Penghu County Cultural Affairs Bureau raised a special activity to carry on the age-old Penghu tradition of making animal figurines from rice. Each and every elementary school student was invited to attend the activity where elders of the community were given the responsibility of passing on the techniques and knowledge of this tradition. Each session saw in excess of 100 young participants, who under the careful instruction of community elders all succeeded in kneading out the animal figurines. There were also some young participants who demonstrated unbridled imagination to produce figurines of great ingenuity. One of the sessions even saw the arrival of a local foreign teacher who expressed their joy at having the opportunity to attend such a meaningful activity that was based around the local traditional culture.

12月22日是「冬至」。澎湖縣府文化局等單位共同主辦「耆老用心
學童溫馨」活動，希望傳承澎湖冬至傳統技藝捏「雞母狗」，也邀請全縣各國小報名參加，透過社區裡會捏雞母狗的耆老，將經驗及手藝傳承給小朋友，也請地方文
史工作者來講授雞母狗的意義，讓學童在冬至節慶前，學習傳統藝術之美。每一場次，都有超過一百位小朋友參加，在耆老的指導下，每位小朋友都能捏出傳統雞母
狗造型，不過也有小朋友是天馬行空、想像無限，做出來的雞母狗有各種造型，其中有一場，還吸引了外國老師來學習，他們表示，課程正好教到地方文化，知道有
