A key reason for choosing these systems is cost efficiency. Reports indicate that the SM-2 missile used in air defense costs approximately $2.1 million per unit, while the more advanced SM-6 missile costs around $3.9 million. In contrast, the "Coyote" and "Roadrunner" systems cost only a fraction of these missiles, allowing commanders greater flexibility in responding to drone threats.
