臺灣海域蘊育著豐富的鯨豚資源，在全球將 90 多種鯨豚中，目前記錄有 33 種鯨豚曾在臺灣周遭海域出現，約為世界鯨豚種類的三分之一，無論在種類多樣性或豐度上，都堪稱鯨豚分布重要地區。
本報導希望由花蓮海域的鯨豚出發，揭示在現今鯨豚觀光蓬勃發展的社會中，友善鯨豚如何可能。
