Ecological Disaster At TaChueh Creek

This year on the 30th of September, an ecological disaster was discovered in TaChueh Creek of Guanyin Township, Taoyuan County leading to the death of all the fish and shrimp. On the 21st of October Lin Xiu-min from the prosecution ordered that the relevant environmental department investigate the company Xun-Han. Twenty-two barrels of extremely acidic waste products were removed from the site as evidence.

According to a media report, Xun-Han, the company in question, were found to have no permit to process or dispose of dangerous chemicals, however were able to buy chemical containers and resell them after cleaning. Water used to clean the containers was discharged into TaChueh Creek, solving the riddle as to why such a terrible catastrophe could happen.

今年9月30日的桃園縣觀音鄉大堀溪遭不明廢液污染，導致全境魚蝦死亡，10月21日由檢察官林秀敏指揮環保相關單位，查扣勳漢企業廿二個裝有腐蝕性、極酸性廢溶液桶，本案污染原兇終於現形。根據媒體報導，勳漢企業並未取得化學物處理許可證，卻專門向化學公司收購裝有化學液體的容器，清洗後再販售，並將有毒廢水排入大堀溪，難怪會造成整條溪流的生態大浩劫。
