Pictures From Typhoon Meiji

In the aftermath of Typhoon Meiji, which brought disaster to Yilan, the media only seemed interested in chasing around government officials. While the mass media were content with capturing the ‘stage play’ put on by these officials, CJ reporter Li Zhong-wei used photography to capture the many unnamed hero’s that stepped forth in the chaos of the disaster, including many soldiers and volunteers. Li Zhong-wei also used black and white photography to capture the heartfelt thoughts and angst of the people.

梅姬颱風肆虐，造成宜蘭地區嚴重災情，在災難後的現場，新聞媒體瘋狂追逐的焦點，大部分都是政府官僚在螢光幕前作秀的畫面。公民記者李忠衛用相機，記錄默默在救災現場為災民付出的無名英雄們，包括國軍官兵與自願幫忙的志工們。另外，李忠衛也記錄了災區重建之路，用黑白影像道出居民無奈的心聲。
