2023 Citizen Journalism Teacher Training Workshop: Empowering PeoPo citizen journalists to teach at community universities

PeoPo and community universities have a close working relationship, and citizen journalism courses offered by community universities better enable citizen journalists to cover local issues. Recently, to nurture more committed citizen journalists and bring more teachers into community universities, the Promotion of Community Universities (NAPCU), Sin Yang Ping Community University, and PeoPo co-organized a workshop.

More than twenty community colleges and nearly a hundred citizen journalists attended the 2023 Citizen Journalism Teacher Training Workshop. Moreover, PTS Chairperson Hu Yuan-hui also came to the workshop to give support and encouragement. After a wonderful day of sharing and discussion, we hope that many more experienced citizen journalists will join the ranks of community universities as teachers to promote concern for public affairs and help citizen journalism blossom.

PeoPo和社區大學有緊密的合作關係，社大開設的公民新聞課程更能夠報導更多的在地議題。為了讓社區大學有更多的師資進入社大全國促進會，新楊平社區大學和公共電視PeoPo共同舉辦工作坊，期許媒合更多的老師進入社大，以陪伴的角色孵育更多有心投入報導的公民記者。

2023公民新聞師資工作坊現場有二十幾所社區大學及近百位公民記者前來參與，公共電視董事長胡元輝也到場支持與鼓勵。經過一整天工作坊的課程分享與討論，期望有更多資深的公民記者一起加入社大師資的行列，共同來關心公共事務，讓公民報導遍地開花。
