Thailand’s Public Television Managing Director Applauds Incredible Development of Taiwan’s CJ Platform, Peopo

On a recent visit to Taiwan PTS, Thailand’s Public Television Service Managing Director Mr. Thepchai Yong was given a special guided tour of the Citizen Journalism Platform, led by PTS International Department’s Director Lin Leh-chyun.  At the 2009 Public Broadcasters International(PBI), PeoPo made a deep impression on Mr. Thepchai Yong, especially with regards to PTS’s highly efficient use of manpower and its commitment to implementing a citizen news service. On this visit Mr. Thepchai Yong highly praised Peopo’s incredibly rapid development and outstanding performance results, already surpassing 4000 Citizen Journalists. Thailand’s Public Television Service has similar aspirations in developing a Citizen Journalist Platform, therefore Mr. Thepchai Yong was particularly interested in how to combine television and internet resources and to promote the development of Citizen Journalism.  Mr. Thepchai Yong suggested that the next step was to enlarge the scope of Citizen Journalism, encouraging CJ’s to cover even bigger stories and issues at the national level.

泰國公共電視台總經理Thepchai Yong參訪台灣公視，在公視國際部經理林樂群的陪同下特別到公民新聞平台參觀。2009年的世界公視年會，Thepchai Yong就對peopo印象深刻，對於公視以精簡的人力投入公民新聞服務，短短時間發揮卓越的績效，擁有超過4000名公民記者，特別讚賞。泰國公視也希望發展公民新聞，所以Thepchai Yong特別仔細詢問如何結合電視與網路的資源，推動公民新聞發展。Thepchai Yong也建議，下一步可以透過公民新聞來擴大公眾參與，例如鼓勵公民記者報導更多全國性事務等。
