Minbaklu: At Stake

The aftermath of Minbaklu Bridge Disconnection continues, as the recent consecutive rains erupt Yusuei River, the attributed factor for devastating mudslide a year ago. On February 23rd, Jiaxian Branch had annouced road closure to prevent potential mudslide. Yesterday (24th), the road resumed after security's road safety check. 

Jiaxian Branch is now constructing a steel girder bridge after Minbaklu Bridge was hit by the strong mudslide from Yusuei River. It is designed to withstand a small scale of mudflow, compared to the current makeshift road. The branch will announce early warning closure if sudden thundershower appears to ensure complete safety for both workers and road users. The lastest road condition can be searched via "Happiness Road" App by Direcorate General of Highways, also available in http://168.thb.gov.tw.

台20線93K~98K+700(勤和至復興)路段昨(23)日因土石流發生而進行預警性封閉，於今(24)日上午5點保全朝巡確認鋼便橋便道無狀況後，今（24）日上午6點正常開放通行。

台20線93K~98K+700(勤和至復興)路段因玉穗溪水文狀態目前仍尚未穩定，短期鋼便橋雖通洪斷面有所提升可較現有之涵管便道更能承受小規模之土石泥流，昨日短期鋼便橋雖通過單日降雨量超過50mm及部分土石流下沖考驗，惟如遇突發性強降雨本處為維護用路人安仍將啟動緊急預警性封閉作業，另外大雨等級玉穗溪如大規模土石下衝仍有致災風險；鋼便橋通行期間請用路人配合交管人員指揮及指示牌面通行。
