20th anniversary of Xingang Railway Park - a collection of old objects infused with memories

In Xingang Township, Chiayi County, there is a unique park – Xingang Railway Park. Unlike other parks with slides and swings, this park is home to a locomotive and brightly painted carriages oozing nostalgia. In the 1980s, road transportation developed rapidly, and transportation innovations pushed the sugar railroad into decline. Once the trains stopped running, the area became deserted and overgrown.

Fortunately, thanks to careful maintenance by residents, Xingang Railway Park is now welcoming visitors with a vibrant new look. This year, on the 20th anniversary of the completion of the railway park, Xinkang Foundation of Culture and Education and Chiayi County Cultural Tourism Bureau jointly held an exhibition at Warehouse 25, Xingang Cultural Center exhibiting a collection of old railway-related items from the public.
