URL: http://www.peopo.org/portal.php?op=viewPost&articleId=59687 A group of six physically disadvantaged classmates chasing a dream have challenged themselves to cycle to Kenting in Southern Taiwan. The classmates under the guidance of volunteers and coaches are to take part in the 5 days, 4 nights ‘ 2010 Embracing Pedal Power’ activity, challenging them to ride 300 long kilometers.
The classmates have a range of disabilities from mild to the more severely disabled and also some with visual impairments. The classmates vowed not to allow these physical disabilities to stand in the way of their cycling dreams. They faced many obstacles along the way including scorching temperatures, cycling against the wind, cycling up hill, and burst tires, just to mention a few. They overcame all of these difficulties, and on arrival at the destination let out a loud cheer to express their jubilant mood.
