Helping the visually impaired reconnect with society
Early in the morning, what is heard from the classroom is not the sound of students reading. It turns out that Suang Lien Foundation for the Visually Impaired has launched a series of mind-body classroom activities to help visually impaired people engage in regular social activities. Participants include people who were born blind and some who lost their sight later in life or developed severe short-sightedness. Though no different from sighted people, they need to be more attentive to the changes around them.
The Suang Lien Foundation’s courses include the long-term accompaniment of social workers, giving visually impaired people the impetus to get out of the house. Creating a happy and safe environment helps visually impaired people drop their guard and foster a positive attitude towards life.

透過長期的社工陪伴,基金會課程活動推出,讓許多不敢走出家門的視障朋友們,想到這裡很快樂很安全,就會卸下心防,繼續保持對人生積極、正向的心態。
