Guide runners lead the visually impaired to a new life

Most visually impaired people find it challenging to exercise as they would like in sports venues, so when they want to run, they need a guide runner. The guide runners' main job is to lead visually impaired runners in the correct direction and watch out for obstacles or danger.

Teams of guide runners around Taiwan provide visually impaired people opportunities to get out of the house and exercise, which also helps them meet new friends. Visually impaired runner Zhang Bo-feng (張伯鋒) suffers from retinopathy, which causes untold inconvenience to his life. However, since he started running, Bo-feng has returned to a regular life and met more like-minded friends. Despite suffering from a chronic illness, it has not affected Bo-feng's passion for running.
