Sheltered workshop provides light of hope for people with disabilities

After personally undergoing a period of vocational rehabilitation, the owner of a sheltered workshop laundry in Guishan, Taoyuan, knows all about the challenges people with disabilities face finding jobs. Her own challenging past motivated her to set up a laundry to provide employment opportunities for people with disabilities and help them regain confidence.

However, there are many considerations when hiring people with disabilities, such as setting up barrier-free spaces in the workplace and spending more time teaching employees. Despite this, hiring people with physical and mental disabilities has many advantages: they are never lazy in the face of heavy workloads and show an indomitable spirit. 在桃園龜山有間洗衣庇護工廠，創辦人本身經歷過職業重建服務，了解身心障礙者就業不易，因此設立洗衣工廠，提供身心障礙者就業的機會，同時帶也幫助他們重拾自信。

然而雇用身心障礙者工作是需要很多的考量，比如工作地點要設立無障礙空間，或是得花更多時間去教導身心障礙員工。雖然是聘用身心障礙者，但他們身上其實有非常多優點，面對工作專注度高從不偷懶，展現出不屈不撓的精神，身心障礙者更是懂得珍惜每次工作的機會。
