Using patchwork as paintings to display the beauty of Taiwan
Artist Hsu Hsi-chen (徐昕辰) has twenty years of experience in the world of patchwork. However, it wasn't until coming into contact with patchwork culture from abroad that she made up her mind to move away from traditional patchwork. She has transformed her photographic works into realistic patchwork art using the folklore, culture, and beautiful landscapes of Taiwan, bringing her travel memories and experiences to life in her art.
By combining technology and traditional patchwork, Hsu Hsi-chen has transformed her love of photography and patchwork into photographic works of art through digital printing. She coincidentally discovered that digital textile printing is versatile, saves fabrics, and is suitable for presenting landscape art. It turned out that the recent pandemic actually became a driving force for Hsu's innovation process. Now controlling every link in the chain, from raw materials to production, Hsu has become fully independent, giving her the courage to expand the horizons of the world of patchwork.
