Dancing through the epidemic with ingenuity

The dance company begins tonight’s performance, but the performance venue is its own dance classroom. Furthermore, when performances changed to an online format, there was the drawback of having no audience, making it difficult to engage the emotions of performers.

By inviting a small number of people to attend the live-streamed performances, the dance company was able to attract more people to participate online. The pandemic crisis has allowed dance companies to try new methods of performing, the small performer-audience distance making performances more intimate and direct. This opportunity to transform during the pandemic has shown that dance is not a refined, unreachable culture, but an interactive exchange that is both friendly and warm.

透過邀請少量現場觀眾，再運用科技讓更多人線上參與。疫情危機讓舞蹈團嘗試新的表演型態，小空間讓舞者和觀眾的距離也更貼近、更直接。從危機中看見轉機，也重新定義舞蹈藝術不是精緻又遙不可及的文化，舞蹈藝術也能是近距離且溫暖的人際互動。
