Transforming neon lighting into art
Neon lights were widely used in advertising signs in the 1980s. However, since the invention of LED lights, the radiance of neon lights has gradually waned. LED lights are bright, low cost, and save electricity; the lifespan of neon lights is affected by dust and moisture, and they are time-consuming to produce. Despite all this, LED lights are still unable to replace the warm glow of neon lights.
Though there has been a gradual decline in the neon light industry, Huang Shun-le refuses to give up easily. Using his skillful hands to integrate life and art, Huang produces interactive neon lighting displays that take on all manner of weird and wonderful shapes. With his work sought after by exhibition halls at home and abroad, Huang has managed to transform traditional neon lighting into modern art.
