Linyuan Elementary School produces robotic disinfectant dispenser
In recent months, COVID-19 has spread around the world. In response to the epidemic prevention policy, Linyuan Elementary School Mechanical Energy Club took just four days to invent a Lego-based robotic disinfectant dispenser. The combination of children's creativity and epidemic prevention measures has attracted media interest from home and abroad.
Linyuan Elementary School Mechanical Energy Club won the 2013 FIRST LEGO League Championships and came second place in the Programming Category of the 2019 FIRST LEGO League Australian Asia Pacific Open. The campus is located near an infamous industrial zone related to Kaohsiung's petrochemical industry where fires, gas explosions, and other such incidents are nothing out of the ordinary. As a result, the students' instructor Wu Ya-ru (吳雅茹) decided to set up a mechanical energy club in the hope of stimulating children's creativity and encouraging them to contribute to the community.
