After-school tutoring program ensures kids no longer study alone after class
Many parents are too busy to accompany their children after school each day, and many such kids come from disadvantaged families. The Chinese Christian Relief Association works with churches all over Taiwan to provide children with after-school programs, ensuring they have a safe place to stay after school.
The company of teachers and social workers not only saves parents from worrying about the whereabouts of their kids after school but also takes care of their physical health and mental wellbeing. Although the government and NGOs already have many after-school programs to provide children with an after-school learning environment, such programs are no substitute for the actual company and care of children’s parents.
