Glocalization – Multi-ethnic integration

Taiwanese people are becoming increasingly accepting of foreign workers, and many places have even developed unique local cultures, such as the small Indonesian street next to Taipei Station; Zhonghe even holds a Songkran festival to allow migrant workers from Thailand and Myanmar to celebrate their hometown festivals in Taiwan.

In the 1980s, Taiwan went through an economic transformation, and the business community demanded that the government establish regulations to allow migrant workers to enter the country legally. The 1992 Employment Service Law stipulated the conditions and types of employment for employing labor. In order to give their families back home a better future, migrant workers coming to Taiwan work exceptionally hard and are generally reluctant to even spend money on leisure or entertainment.

Foreign workers have gradually integrated into Taiwanese society. They are not only hired employees but also silent promoters of social progress, providing a solid backbone at home for hardworking Taiwanese people too.

1980年代，台灣面臨經濟轉型，企業要求政府成立法規以合法引進移工，1992年通過的《就業服務法》規定了雇用勞工的條件及工作類型。許多來台灣工作的移工每天辛苦工作，甚至捨不得花錢在休閒娛樂，為的就是讓遠在家鄉的親人能夠有個更好的未來。

外籍勞工逐漸融入台灣社會中，他們不僅僅是受雇用的員工，更是社會進步默默的推手，成為外出打拼的人堅強的後盾。
