Golden-agers living life to the fullest

The fragrant aroma of coffee wafts across the room as tantalizingly creamy milk is delicately poured into cups; the focus and attention displayed by these “golden baristas” is on par with professional baristas. Most of the “golden baristas” here are from Yin-Tong Community, a quaint and endearing corner of Tainan, which despite having a high proportion of seniors, is full of exciting events and activities.

Quail Quiche is a discreet coffee shop in Tainan’s West Central District next to Lady Linshui Temple. The shop holds classes for golden-agers every Thursday at 9:30 am, starting with its “golden barista” course. With group classes providing companionship and cognitive stimulation, as long as you have faith in the old saying, “you're never too old to learn,” nothing is impossible, and age doesn’t need to be a hindrance to learning. Who says you can’t be forever 18?

陣陣咖啡香撲鼻而來，濃郁的牛奶被倒入杯中，專注的神情一點也不輸給專業的咖啡師，他們是「熟齡吧檯手」。大部分的熟齡吧檯手們，是來自於「銀同社區」的居民，跟這些阿嬤們一樣。銀同社區也是相當的活潑可愛，雖然大部分的居民年齡層較高，也規劃出了許多特色活動。

鵪鶉鹹派是一間招牌不明顯的咖啡廳，位於台南市中西區臨水夫人媽廟旁，他們每個禮拜四早上九點半，都會舉辦課程活動，而這些課程都是從熟齡吧檯手起源。擁有彼此互相陪伴學習，透過交流觸發彼此的思考點，一心只要帶著「活到老學到老」的精神，沒有什麼不可能，年紀不會成為學習的阻礙，永遠都可以是18歲。
