Warmth in a shoebox for kids at Christmas
These piles of shoeboxes aren’t headed for the recycling depot but part of a Christmas activity organized by House of Dreams, which collects shoeboxes from the public and fills them with stationery and warm clothing as Christmas gifts for underprivileged children in the festive season.
Launched by House of Dreams in 2015, the Christmas Visit Project delivers gifts to disadvantaged families during holidays and festivals and has already helped more than 1,500 families. For this year’s event, volunteers from the House of Dreams entered the community and schools to distribute shoebox gifts to kids. Through the Christmas Visit Project, House of Dreams hopes to garner people power and give a helping hand to families going through rough times, ensuring that at least the kids get to enjoy a happy and unforgettable Christmas.
