Migrant Caring Hands Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival – joyous and happy in Taiwan
The overall population of Taiwan is rapidly aging, and the number of those requiring long-term care has increased in tandem. Many families in need of long-term care services hire migrant care workers so that members of the family can go out to work with peace of mind. According to statistics, the number of foreign care workers in Taiwan currently stands at nearly 250,000, accounting for more than 30% of the total 690,000 strong migrant workforce.
To thank this group of "caring hands" for bringing peace of mind to Taiwanese people, the 1st Kaohsiung City Service Center of the National Immigration Agency specially held "Migrant Caring Hands Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival" in Aouzihdi Park, where pomelo and moon cakes were distributed amongst migrant workers and caregivers. The willingness of migrant workers to share their fascinating life stories has been instrumental in bringing people closer.
