Garnering love through “wood” - Yu-dong Junior High students sell their carpentry for charity
During the student graduation exhibition at the Old Boiler Room in Huashan 1914 Creative Park, many students could be seen shuttling around enthusiastically introducing their carpentry projects to visitors. The students exhibited a selection of carpentry, some created by teams and some by individuals. It was clear from the ebullient expression on the students' faces that each of them felt a great sense of achievement.
Assistant teacher at Yu-dong Junior High School’s carpentry class, Liu Yu-bo (劉玉帛), feels the quality of work produced in the carpentry class over the past few years has gone from strength to strength. One reason for this is undoubtedly an increase in resources, but another reason may be the increasingly diverse designs provided by the teacher. It is apparent from the enhanced standard and degree of complexity in students’ work that they have improved leaps and bounds. Hopefully, future students will continue to show the same diligence in their studies and keep making headway.
