Laiyi Village Culture & Health Station - Passing on Paiwan wisdom and culture

The site of Laiyi Culture & Health Station in Pingtung has always been a prominent community meeting place that provides daycare for the elderly. Today, because of new government policy, it has begun focusing on the health and culture of elderly Paiwan locals, bringing them together to take care of each other. 

Paiwan elders gather at Laiyi Culture & Health Station not only to participate in activities and share their needs with each other but also in the hope of recording their age-old tribal wisdom and passing it on to future generations. In addition to serving local elders, the station also provides a haven for local children to visit after school, where tribal women offer hot food and guidance to the kids while they finish school homework and wait for parents to return from their jobs in the city.

屏東來義部落文化健康站，過去是一個據點，也是老人日間的關懷站。現在因為政府的政策，轉變成文化健康站，讓許多排灣族的長者，在這邊相互照顧。

排灣族的長者，因為活動一同聚集在健康站，彼此分享生活所需，也希望藉由紀錄，將他們的智慧傳承下來。來義文化健康站不僅服務長者，部落的孩子也在下課後來到這，部落婦女提供熱食，指導孩子寫完作業，等待遠在市區內工作的父母回家，成為孩子們的避風港。
