Taipei stages lively World Animal Day

This year’s World Animal Day was celebrated in Taipei’s Daan Forest Park, where a whole host of environmental and animal welfare organizations came along to participate. Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je also made an appearance at the event, pledging to seek a friendlier and better environment for animals through government policies in cooperation with assistance from animal welfare groups. 

At the event, a multitude of activities covered everything from environmental protection and marine protection to even the protection of economic animals. In addition to being cute and providing a healing presence, our furry friends play an indispensable role in the life of many people. To highlight this, the animal welfare group Adoption Alliance (送養者聯盟) staged a drama performance, which although humorous, focused on calling on the public to continue with the very real struggle of raising awareness in animal rights.

一年一度世界動物日 台北熱鬧展開

一年一度的世界動物日在台北大安森林公園展開，許多環境與動物保護團體都到了現場參與。台北市長柯文哲也到了現場宣導政策，再加上動保團體的協助，一同為動物追求更友善、良好的環境。

活動中有很多環境保護、海洋保護，甚至是經濟動物的保護。尤其是毛小孩除了可愛療癒的身影外，在許多人的生活中，更扮演著不可或缺的重要角色。為了動物的權利，動保團體「送養者聯盟」更上演舞台劇，以詼諧的方式來呼籲大眾共同盡一份心力。
