Mobile photographers capture happy indigenous family shots
During this summer vacation, Hsinchuang Senior High School Media Volunteer Group (新莊高中媒體服務隊) visited Wuta, an Atayal village in Yilan’s Nanao Township, where it provided three days and two nights of service to the rural community. Using their media skills, students rigged up a photography studio to capture some wonderful shots of local families and kids in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Equipped with oodles of enthusiasm and expertise, the students went about getting to know the villagers and discovering interesting local stories before inviting everyone from the community to come and get professional photographs taken.
In addition, a group from National Taipei University of Technology doing volunteer work in the community also accepted the invitation to get a group photo. The mobile photography studio isn’t only about ensuring villagers have memorable snapshots to pass on to the next generation but also about providing students with exchange opportunities in local communities, something which provides a rich harvest to all involved.
