Tainan welcomes foreign travelers – Brand new dragon boat experience

Held on the beautiful Tainan Canal, this year, Tainan International Dragon Boat Championship saw the participation of over 3000 athletes. Due to the scorching heat, in 2004, the dragon boat championships were moved to the evenings and incorporated eye-catching varicolored light displays, attracting even larger numbers of visitors to delight in the fantastic spectacle. 

Tainan International Dragon Boat Championship is an important traditional folk activity in Tainan City. Over and above the many domestic competitors, the event also attracts the participation of countless foreign competitors, who not only get to experience the boat race, but also take the opportunity to enjoy Tainan’s many fascinating local customs. With a different style for the content of festival activities each year, it has become an annual must-visit event for droves of Taiwanese and foreigners.

外國遊子在台南 首划龍舟新體驗

台南市國際龍舟錦標賽在台南安平運河舉行，今年一共有3千多位選手一起參與競賽。而龍舟賽自2004年以後，比賽的時間因炎熱的天氣而移至夜間舉行。現場繽紛的燈光加上湖面彩色倒影，也吸引不少觀眾前往欣賞。

府城龍舟賽，是台南市相當傳統的民俗活動，除了國內參賽者眾多，每年也都會吸引不少國外好手前來競賽，除了體驗滑龍舟外，也藉機體會到當地的風俗民情。端午節特有的活動每年都有不同的花樣和節目內容，而國際龍舟大賽看來不只台灣人玩得開心，就連外國民眾也都樂在其中。
