Going on vacation – Searching for stories throughout the land

In 2009, two students graduating from 7th grade created the touring event ‘Monopoly Train (火車大富翁)’ and have kept it running ever since. Today, the annual event attracts countless people in search of adventure with other like-minded travel partners, stepping out of their usual comfort circle for a very special experience. In this idiosyncratic style of traveling, dice are thrown to decide which station to stop at, whereupon participants search the area for interesting local stories. Over the last seven years, countless people have traveled with the event through Taiwan’s two hundred plus stations, producing innumerable fascinating stories of the country’s people and places. Co-founder of ‘I am traveling (我在旅行)’, Huang Shi-hua (黃世華), said he hopes to continue promoting the activity in campuses and communities, extending the joy of this unique mode of traveling nationwide.

2009年一個畢業製作所發想的《火車大富翁》，因為兩位七年級生延續至今，每年吸引許多想冒險、想找尋旅行意義的夥伴，一起踏出舒適圈，來場特別的體驗。這種特別的旅行方式，是藉由擲骰子決定旅程的下一個停留站點，在未知的旅行過程中去發現、尋找最在地的特色與故事。七年多以來，每年吸引許多旅人踏遍台灣兩百多個車站，激盪出無數個人與事物的故事，「我在旅行」的共同創辦人黃世華表示，希望未來能從校園及地方持續推動，讓這種旅行的感動從地方開始蔓延。
