Singing and dancing for Huashan senior citizens at Mid-Autumn Festival banquet

Chiayi City Chefs’ Labour Union (嘉義市廚師職業工會) recently raised the “5th Love Senior Citizens Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration (愛老人‧中秋亮起來)”, a song and talent show-cum-charity dinner in Chiayi City. At the event, 30 tables were provided for 250 senior citizens across 19 townships to enjoy entertainment and dinner. Union members got to work early in the morning, making sure that the venue was gleaming and ready for the senior citizens as they were shuttled in from all over the county.  

Director general of Chiayi City Chefs’ Labour Union Xu Kun-sheng (許坤生) said: “Our members have provided their enthusiastic participation in preparing all the dishes completely free of charge and with a great deal of love to ensure that vulnerable senior citizens from the Chiayi area enjoy a fabulous day. Funds raised from the event will be given to Huashan Social Welfare Foundation(華山基金會) to help them continue providing an outstanding service to society.” In addition to providing care visits, home assistance, and various other services, Huashan Social Welfare Foundation has already established 19 senior centers in Chiayi.

華山獨老秀歌舞 中秋盛宴慶團圓

嘉義市廚師職業工會在嘉義市舉辦第五屆「愛老人‧中秋亮起來」K歌才藝秀暨慈善餐會，邀請嘉義19鄉鎮市的250位長輩一同歡樂並席開30桌，展開一場老寶貝們的才藝歌舞秀，一大早，工會會員們展開平日所長，把會場佈置的喜氣洋洋，迎接從各地接送來的長輩們。

嘉義市廚師職業工會理事長許坤生表示「會員主動參與準備最好的食材用心料理並完全不收費用，要讓嘉義的弱勢長輩好好享受。也讓華山基金會把這些經費留作服務用，對貢獻服務社會更有意義。」華山基金會已於嘉義縣市設立19個愛心天使站，提供關懷訪視、家務協助等服務。
