Frogs, board games and art at Liugui
With an aim to promote environmental education, a group of local cultural workers and teachers from Kaohsiung’s Liugui District have formulated a number of courses that include awareness of frog habitats and nighttime wetland observations. During the courses, drama is used to introduce the concepts of biodiversity and the food chain so that children not only learn about frog habitats but also understand the inextricable relationship between people and the environment.
The teachers have incorporated a number of popular table games and led students to create their very own frog-habitat board games. These games include numerous hand-drawn pictures, from blue-haired frog princesses to frogs preparing for the beautiful-leg competition, displaying an amazing amount of imagination and creativity from the students.
