Rock 'n' rolling Changhua grandpas and grandmas march towards Taipei Arena
With an average age of 76, members of this energetic group of dancers from Changhua are busily preparing for a performance at the Taipei Arena in October. This year, HONDAO Senior Citizen’s Welfare Foundation (弘道基金會) has sponsored the 5th Senior on Broadway (仙角百老匯) event, inviting ten performing troupes from around the country to Taipei Arena – “R&R Oldies from Changhua Zhongquan Community” is one of the ten troupes that will perform in Taipei.
Taipei Arena is the foremost performing stage in Taiwan, and as such all of the performances are expected to be outstanding. In spite of the fact that their aging bodies present all kinds of problems and injuries, the performers have overcome these physical limitations with incredible perseverance and endurance. This new activity provides these grandmas and granddads with a concrete focus in daily life and therefore the up-and-coming performance is extremely significant.
