Cultural Illustrations of Stonewall Village

In Shiqiang Village – a.k.a. Stonewall Village – a simple 200-year-old Hakka village in Miaoli’s Gonguang Township, BenQ Foundation and Zhumiao Tutoring Team recently helped to open ‘Shiqiang Cultural Illustration Class’. Led by the local chief of village, local residents gathered at Stonewall Community Center along with a number of respected elders and cultural workers, where together they attempted to illustrate stories from a century ago. The process of illustrating scenes from old community photos unlocked a wave of nostalgic memories from villagers.

石墻庄人文繪本
苗栗公館石墻村是一個純樸的客家庄，建庄即將200周年，最近由BenQ明基友達基金會、竹苗DOC輔導團隊，輔導開立了《石墻庄人文繪本課》。由村長帶領村民在石墻社區活動中心，邀請耆老與關心文史的工作者，一起用畫筆畫出百年前的故事，由社區耆老繪畫老照片的過程，找回往日的記憶。
