0206 Tainan Earthquake – related CJ reports

Striking at 3:57am in the early hours of February 6, the 6.4 magnitude quake brought the Weiguan Jinlong complex (維冠金龍大樓) down in the blink of an eye. Broken in 3 different places and lying flat across the road, the 17-storey building’s collapse was an astonishing sight.

Firefighters and rescue personnel from across the country fully participated in the disaster relief effort. In addition, numerous social welfare groups and volunteers from around the country arrived at the scene to provide information, meals and other resources. The earthquake took the lives of 117 people in Tainan, 115 of who were killed when the Weiguan Jinlong complex collapsed.

2月6日清晨3點57分的6.4強震，造成台南維冠大樓瞬間倒塌，17個樓層斷成三截，橫躺在馬路上，現場怵目驚心，來自全國各地的消防和搜救人員，全面投入救災。更有來自各地的社福團體與志工在現場服務，提供資訊查詢與餐點等資源。這場震災在台南共造成117人罹難、其中有115位是因為維冠大樓倒踏而罹難。
