With a deep and husky voice, one elderly resident sang her favorite Taiwanese song without forgetting a single word. Despite the fact she is illiterate and suffers from dementia, this resident simply loves copying Buddhist sutras. When she first arrived at “Miracle Home” in Taishan District, New Taipei City, she possessed the rather troublesome problem of mistakenly believing paper tissues were banknotes! She would stuff her pockets full of tissues and slowly dispense them out to the drivers and social workers throughout the day.

“Miracle Home”, which currently cares for 40 elderly residents suffering from disabilities and dementia, is seen by all of the elderly residents as a second home. Nuns at the home know the unique story of each and every elderly resident, and have consistently witnessed a marked improvement in the mental and physical health of residents following their arrival. This has further strengthened their conviction that “love makes miracles happen”.
