Tree doctor Xiao Wen-wei diagnoses and treats trees throughout Taiwan

Tree doctor Xiao Wen-wei (蕭文偉) not only travels the length and breadth of Taiwan diagnosing and treating trees, he has also been endeavoring to spread the concept of tree conservation to the public. A graduate of NTU’s Department of Plant Pathology & Microbiology, Xiao Wen-wei has treated over 1000 trees during over 10 years working in this field. Though a lack of practical experience somewhat thwarted Xiao Wen-wei’s work at the outset, today he rushes around nonstop to aid trees throughout Taiwan.  

In order to be more efficient in spreading information related to tree treatment and ecological conservation, Xiao Wen-wei established “Tree Hospital”, a website that answers tree-related queries from members of the public, and accepts on-line registration; the “tree doctor” also provides on-site tree examination and treatment. Xiao Wen-wei believes that each and every one of these old trees, which provide us with shelter from the wind and rain, deserves our sincere treatment.

樹醫生蕭文偉跑全台為樹木診療

台灣有位樹木醫生蕭文偉，除了為全台各地的樹木看診、治療，也希望將樹木保育的觀念帶給大家。蕭文偉為樹木義診十餘年，治療過的樹已達上千棵，從台大植物病蟲害學系畢業的他，曾經因為缺乏實務經驗而受挫，如今，為了幫助有需要的樹木，蕭文偉在台灣四處奔波。

為了讓樹木治療及生態保育的知識更加有效的傳播，蕭文偉設立了樹木醫學研究網站，開放讓民眾問診，並且可以線上掛號，他也會到現場實地看診。蕭文偉認為這些平時為人們擋風遮雨的老樹，每一棵都值得我們認真對待。
