Hushan Elementary School’s special ecological syllabus goes digital
Located in the suburbs of Tainan’s Rende District, Hushan Elementary School is not only surrounded by lush thick forest with a vast array of plant species, the school also boasts a well-ordered planted forest to its rear, providing children with an incredibly natural study environment.
Besides a truly unique course syllabus, the school has also integrated the digital world through adopting tablet pieces. Children can be seen in each and every corner of the school searching for QR Codes, assisting them to recognize the plants on campus and providing them with a better understanding of knowledge related to the environment. As part of the school’s special course syllabus, children were instructed to collect dried leaves and branches, which after some creative thinking were transformed into a tree house. Towering beside the school’s entrance, the wooden fortification symbolizes the spirit of environmental protection imbued into teachers and students at the school.
