Student’s design makes washing clothes more convenient for visually impaired

After witnessing visually impaired people become the center of unwanted attention due to dirty clothes, Luo Wei (羅唯), a graduate from the Industrial Design Department at Huafan University, set out to help solve the problem. Luo found the answer in the innovative ‘Blind Person’s Stain Removing Device,’ and utilized the opportunity of his graduation exhibition to put his new device on show.

Through a series of voice prompts and automatic cleaning functions, blind people are able to ascertain the color of their clothes and the degree of cleanliness. Despite limitations in current technology, which mean that the device is unable to begin immediate large-scale production, in the commendable spirit of good will, more and more students are attempting to help people in need through the application of science and technology.

洗衣不便 學生創意設計助盲人

為了協助視障朋友洗衣服，華梵大學工業設計系的畢業生羅唯，看到視障者因衣物汙漬被人指指點點，由此貼心設計了「盲人衣物輔助去汙裝置」，並藉著畢業展覽的機會，設計出「盲人衣物輔助去汙裝置」參展。透過裝置的聲音提示和自動清潔功能，盲人可以知道自己衣物的顏色和清潔程度。雖然科技受限，作品現在還不能投入量化生產，但是有越來越多的學生，嘗試用科技與所學幫助有需要的人，他們的精神值得肯定。
